2005 Business Intelligence Visioning for the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission

Research was conducted by Innovation Insight for the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC).

The research objective was to broadly vision and forecast trends and opportunities in business intelligence systems for innovative economic development. It is expected that a competent information services consultation firm can help the EDC select appropriate commercially available technologies for a competent business intelligence system. However, this research did not limit itself to innovations in narrowly defined business intelligence and data warehousing, but instead took a broad, futurist review of all technology tools and trends that are relevant to economic development information systems in 5, 10, and 15 years.
The overall objective is to help the EDC make informed plans and decisions about its technology
investments, better understand the impacts and implications of technology change and how it will effect
future operations of the EDC, and identify opportunities for the EDC to become an “innovation leader”
and distinguish itself using technology to deliver services to its stakeholders.
